safety and pleasure - Murder On Magnolia Island Trilogy by B.J. Wane

18++ "SHE SURRENDERED HERSELF, BODY, HEART, AND SOUL
We all have certain authors that are a definite favorite, and when they release a new book, you can’t wait to read it. Well, for me, one of those authors is BJ Wane. The first book in this trilogy did not disappoint and kept me on the edge of my seat with the pages turning with a large cast of characters." - Kathy, Goodreads

Description:

LOGAN

She’s the girl next door he’s always protected. He’s the man she’s always wanted. Will the threat of a killer finally get them on the same page?
He feared losing their special bond. She feared he’d never see her as a woman. They both feared a murderer’s threat would end what had just begun.
A young woman’s death brought them together. But would searching for the killer separate them for good?

Logan Lemaster drew Melanie Barnes under his protective wing the moment he rescued her from a fall off her bike. She had been six and he thirteen and his over protectiveness didn’t abate over the next twenty years. When a good friend ends up murdered on the family’s private island following one of his and his cousins BDSM weekend parties, Melanie insists on being there to comfort Logan. Only, he hadn’t counted on the grown woman’s tenacious determination to worm her way past his defenses and into his bed. Having spent the past eight years, since Melanie reached adulthood and made her interest in expanding on their friendship known, he’d refused to jeopardize their special bond by introducing her to his kinky preferences. But he was only human, and when her grief over an assault on a co-worker sends him to comfort her, his good intentions fall to the wayside under her responsive body. As he and his cousins plan to hold another BDSM party to feel out their friends for hints about which one had betrayed them in the worst way, he tutors Melanie in his sexual preferences so she can join him. But as they grow closer, so does the killer, and when her life is threatened, Logan knew he would stop at nothing to protect her and make her his in every way.

HUNTER

His saw beyond the scars and limitations to the neglected need inside her, but could she learn to trust again before she caught the attention of a murderer?
His strong dominance healed her painful past. Her shy, caring demeanor cured his guilty conscience. Together, they vowed to avenge a friend’s death.
With a firm hand and loving intent, he freed her from past hurts, but could he keep her safe from a killer’s threat?

After rescuing a woman from the storm-tossed waters surrounding his family island, Hunter Lemaster grows suspicious of Chloe Markham’s motive for being out in the inclement weather. When his stranded guest exhibits signs of submissiveness and neglected need, her shy demeanor drew on the strict Dom side of him and he couldn’t resist giving her what she so desperately needed. Taking advantage of her vulnerable state, he used his expertise to question her, but still was unable to get the full truth from her.

After returning to Charleston from her ill-fated trip to Magnolia Island, Chloe resigns herself to returning to La Rouge, the club her best friend introduced her to, to seek answers to her death. After getting herself in a bind of her own making, she’s shocked when Hunter Lemaster swoops in to rescue her. The truth is out about why she had been so close to his island and Hunter agrees to let Chloe accompany him back to Magnolia when his friends return so she can assist in their continued search for a murder. A threat against Chloe at the end of the weekend proved they were on to something and also convinced Hunter to keep Chloe close, for her safety and his pleasure.

RYDER

It took seeing another man come on to her and a risk to her life to open his eyes to what had been right before him all along.
She desired him for two years, but never imagined the depths he could take her to. Was it just sex, or would a killer’s threat prove it was much more?

Jada Michaels had been lusting after Detective Ryder Lemaster for two years, but failed to get more than a passing nod from him at the police station. Then an opportunity arises to further her career by investigating the murder case of a friend of Ryder’s on the sly. After he tries to dissuade her by making a bet and losing, Jada agrees to let Ryder tutor her in sexual submissiveness in order to attend a private party with all the suspects invited as guests.

Ryder had struggled against his attraction to Jada because he could’ve sworn the IT technician didn’t possess a submissive bone in her sleek, well-toned body. To his astonishment, and hers, she responded without fail to every hard slap and every dominate sexual demand. But after losing his wife to cancer, he swore off relationships and refused to let his need for Jada go any further than their short foray into the investigation. It took seeing another man come on to her and a risk to her life to open his eyes to what had been right before him all along.

As the murderer is revealed and secrets on Magnolia Island unearthed, the Lemaster men and their women have come to grips with the betrayals surrounding them.

AUTHOR's Q&A

Where are you from? Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I live in the Midwest, spend my spare time reading and working puzzles or with my daughter. I love playing cards, dogs, wine and dark chocolate. I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart who does all my research.

Can you tell us about your trilogy?
Murder On Magnolia Island is my first attempt at a murder mystery that expands over three books. Taking place on a private island designed for BDSM parties, it involves numerous suspects and various subplots. The three main characters, two brothers and their cousin, find their matches during the investigation surrounding the murder of a young woman in their small group of friends. Each title ends with an HEA for that couple, however, the murder doesn’t get solved until the end of book three.

What made you want to write?
As an avid reader for over twenty years, I’d begun to wonder if I could write well enough to get published. It took taking writing classes and a few rejections before I finally made it.

How did you get started on your new book?
By putting together my desire to write an erotic mystery and pen a book taking place on an island.

How do you create your characters?
I’ve always loved a story where the main characters have been friends since childhood, so I went with that for my characters in book 1. Another favorite is ‘guy rescues girl’, which I used for book 2. Book 3 was much harder and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with those two. I started with mutual, but reluctant attraction between the two and somehow (don’t ask me how) they evolved into interesting characters on their own.

How do you get your ideas for your stories?
Coming up with a general idea is easy – there are only so many – then I enlist hubby’s help to come up with twists and characters. He has a great imagination.

When writing your books, what was the hardest part?
Keeping track of what all the characters were doing and when from book to book.

About the author:
I live in the Midwest with my husband and our two dogs. I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting dogs and kids, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I much prefer being homebody. I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking. My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly evolved to writing erotic romance with an emphasis on spanking. My favorite genre to read is suspense. I love feedback from readers-both good and bad-so please feel free to email me at bjwane@cox.net.
